Symbalooers, meet Barbara Vinal! Barbara is a Technology Integration and Music Specialist from Fred A. Olds Elementary School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Barbara will show us how she is using SymbalooEDU for her flipped music classroom. She will walk us through how she is organizing her SymbalooEDU webmixes, and how she is using SymbalooEDU on her school’s website.
Q: How did you hear about Symbaloo?
Barbara: I learned about it from a colleague at the NC Music Educators Conference last November.
Q: With whom and how are you using Symbaloo?
Barbara: I use it on our school website for student links. I also use it in my music classroom for using a “flipped classroom” model for additional materials for my students in Grades 3, 4 and 5 to access.
Q: As an administrator how has Symbaloo helped you?
Barbara: Symbaloo has greatly improved the time it takes me to access supplemental material for my classes. There can’t be downtime when you are in front of 30 young children! Being able to quickly get to the materials you need online in one place makes the transition time, not to mention the WOW factor, much better.
Q: What is your favorite feature in Symbaloo?
Barbara: I love the ability to use the browser plug in to put tiles on my page with a click of a button. I can set links on the fly in class and the students will have the link when they leave the room!
